If you're not sure what the Elf on the Shlef is, it's an Elf who comes to visit your family from around Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve. Every night the Elf flies back to the North Pole to report how the children behaved during the day. When he returns to your home, he's hiding in a new spot for the children to find him. On Christmas Eve when Santa delivers his presesnts, the Elf flies back to the North Pole in Santa's sleigh.
Shortly after Jingle came to see us, he forgot to find a new hiding spot for a couple of days. The boys were very concerned that Jingle was sick. I jumped at that and quickly agreed that Jingle must not be feeling very well and maybe we could think of something to help Jingle feel better. The boys thought that maybe a blanket and some rest would help him feel better. It worked! Jingle flew home to the North Pole that night. He left a note for the boys thanking them for the use of their blanket.
